Getting rid of unnecessary
Sort clothes into seasonal, daily, home and go out before expanding the usable wardrobe space. Things that you wear very rarely or do not wear at all can serve others or even you, but in a different incarnation. What can be done:
- Sell unnecessary items at the online flea market or give them away.
- Put in a special container for charity.
- Refresh the interior: sew a decorative pillow, change the upholstery on a chair, or knit a rug.
- Cut and turn into rags for household needs.
Installing shelves
If the filling of the cabinet was not thought out in advance, it is worth "pumping" it with your own hand. It happens that the shelves provided by the manufacturer are located at a great distance from each other. The stack of folded clothes is too high and quickly creates a mess.
Usually shelves are made of chipboard, sawing to fit the width and depth of the cabinet, protecting the ends with an edge and fixing them with screws and shelf holders.
We fix the second bar
Crossbars, located in two rows, significantly increase the usable area of the wardrobe. The top bar is used for blouses, shirts, cardigans and short dresses, while the bottom bar is used for trousers, jeans and skirts.
This tip is suitable for those who have in stock a section for long clothes: coats and floor-length dresses.
We hang baskets
If the creation of additional shelves and rods is difficult, you can purchase special hanging baskets. They are durable, as they are made of metal and, unlike textile ones, do not bend under the weight of clothing. They can be attached to each other, placing them as you like.
Improving hangers
To prevent your clothes from wrinkling, you should store them on hangers. But you should not lay it in layers: this is inconvenient and impractical. The same thin hangers, as well as multi-tiered products that leave all things in plain sight, will help a little to save space.
Conventional hangers can be easily improved by securing them with keys from aluminum cans. A plastic chain will also come to the rescue, allowing you to arrange clothes vertically.
We operate the frame and the door
For compact storage of accessories, it is worth using the walls and doors of the cabinet. For example, attach hooks for bags, rails for belts, jewelry or ties on them. Take a close look at what space remains unused on the side wall - perhaps it will be convenient to fix a basket or a wicker bag for small things there.
We twist the clothes into tubes
We recommend you roll up things that do not need to be hung on a hanger (T-shirts, T-shirts, towels). In this form, they will take up a minimum of space and will not hesitate.
Thanks to this method, the cabinet will look much neater. Even trousers can be stored in "tubes" by folding them into a drawer.
We introduce organizers
The disadvantage of small items of clothing (socks, underwear, and tights) is that, if stored incorrectly, they create a mess and are easily lost. To solve this problem, the laundry should be kept in roll-out drawers using lightweight fabric organizers to fit the structure.
All kinds of dividers are easy to make with your own hands - cardboard boxes and folders for papers will do. If desired, you can use a PVC pipe cut into small pieces. Belts, scarves and socks will fit there.
Save with air
If there is a catastrophic lack of space, you should switch to "heavy artillery" and pack seasonal items in vacuum bags. They reduce the volume of clothing several times. In summer, it is worth storing down jackets and thick sweaters in a compressed form, and light dresses and tops in winter. The main thing is to put things on the far shelves that are definitely not needed, and also remember that after removing the fabric, you will have to iron it.
We use the space between the ceiling
By ordering built-in closet, it is worth doing it right up to the ceiling, but if the structure is already ready and there is an unused space at the top, you should fill it beautifully and usefully.
Today it is easy to find wicker baskets or beautiful boxes on sale, as well as make them. on my own... A vintage suitcase will also come in handy, which will add character to the interior. Inside you can store rarely used shoes and clothes, spare blankets and textiles.
A rational approach to storing things will help make life more comfortable and save not only space, but also time.
