Carpet
One of the most popular types of flooring has many advantages - budget price, ease of installation, as well as additional sound and heat insulation. But carpet, laid in an apartment or house, requires careful care and effort, since removing dust from fluffy surfaces is difficult.
To clean carpeted rooms, you will need a vacuum cleaner and special cleaning products. In a house where people prone to allergies live, it should be discarded.
If you spill a colored drink on the surface, it will be difficult to remove the stain. Even plain water on the floor causes problems - the carpet cannot be simply wiped off, it must be dried.
Black gloss
Spectacular reflective and glass surfaces are the reason for frequent cleaning, since all prints and smudges are visible on smooth facades and doors of household appliances. If the materials are also dark, then the time spent on maintaining cleanliness will have to be doubled.
Neither in the bathroom nor in the kitchen should you use a black gloss if the water is even a little chalky.
If you are a perfectionist, give up dark laminate and parquet flooring, otherwise you will have to wash the floors every day: every speck is visible on them.
Washing by the window
Such kitchen layout is often chosen by owners of private houses: washing dishes and admiring the scenery is relaxing, while additional natural light ensures the best result and saves energy.
Washing by the window can also be found in city apartments - this is a good way to save space. But even the most neat housewives cannot avoid splashes when washing dishes, so glass, on which smudges and drops are clearly visible, will need to be wiped more often than usual.
Another disadvantage: the lack of a dryer above the sink. You will have to use part of the tabletop, which is not always convenient. But if you are a dishwasher owner, frequent cleaning problems can be avoided.
Many open shelves
Storage system with an abundance of open surfaces - the cause of eternal disputes. Connoisseurs of free spaces are attracted by the opportunity to display their favorite dishes in the kitchen, collections of books and souvenirs in the living room, a gallery of photographs and posters in the bedroom.
But shelves that are not protected by facades are much more difficult to keep clean, since all items must be moved and additionally wiped from dust.
The best way to save your time and energy is to minimize open storage without ditching them entirely. Laconic content looks stylish and does not complicate everyday life.
Embossed tile
Small mosaic, tile with deep bevels or texture is a suitable option for those who cook little. In the grooves, dirt and grease actively accumulate, which is more difficult to remove than from smooth surfaces.
This applies not only to the kitchen apron, but also to the flooring, including in the hallway. The smaller the elements, the more difficult it will be to wash off frozen drops and clogged dust.
Intricate chandeliers
A voluminous multi-tiered chandelier with a huge number of elements is considered a luxurious piece of furniture, but is hardly appropriate in an apartment, and especially in a kitchen. Washing small crystal and metal parts is an extremely difficult task, since all the greasy coating mixed with dust settles on the lighting device.
Another impractical item is a chandelier with bowl-shaped shades. They scatter light well and make the ceiling visually higher, but actively accumulate dust, which is problematic to get rid of. In addition, in the summer, the "bowls" become the last refuge for flies and moths.
White grout
If you want to update the bathroom and kitchen apron less often, give up the snow-white grout for joints... Joints quickly lose their original appearance, turning yellow in places of frequent contact with water and blackening due to fungus.
To avoid this problem, you should buy the highest quality grout, but if the composition of the water in the house leaves much to be desired, we do not recommend taking risks.
Ideal for white tiles is a black grout: it looks stylish and is a very practical solution.
When choosing an unusual design, calculate in advance your strength and time for cleaning: take into account the experience of previous users in order to avoid unpleasant discoveries in everyday life.
