Kitchen rugs
Since the kitchen is the most polluted place in the apartment (steam, moisture, cooking and meals test this room for strength every day), only practical materials and pieces of furniture should be used in the interior.
Crumbs and debris fall from the table even from the cleanest owners, so the carpet lying on the floor will have to be vacuumed all the time. It is especially impractical to decorate kitchens with rugs, where the owners prepare and eat meals as a large family every day. Spilled colored liquid, dropped ingredients, flour and cereals will make you spend more time cleaning up.
Textured apron
The modern market is replete with a variety of materials for wall decoration near the work area: ceramic tiles, tempered glass, MDF panels. In addition, designers showcase many original cladding solutions: mosaic, brick, mirror tiles.
Unfortunately, small items are difficult to clean from splashes and grease, so mosaics and embossed surfaces are inappropriate in kitchens where a lot of cooking.
Gloss in the kitchen
Another spectacular but impractical kitchen decorating trick is to use gloss black. Kitchen furniture or appliances with smooth, dark surfaces require more care as they leave fingerprints and splash marks are more visible.
Glass tables are also uncomfortable pieces of furniture - many owners complain about streaks and loud noises that the tabletop responds to every cup delivered.
Luminaires with complex designs
Previously, a three-dimensional chandelier with many details was considered a special chic, but as practice has shown, washing the elements of such a product is not an easy task. Another attractive, but difficult to care for, design solution is complex design lampshades made of paper. They give the room lightness, look airy and stylish, but getting rid of the dust that has gotten into the recesses is difficult.
Shower cabin
Huge shower cabins with additional functions, semicircular sliding doors and large trays have long ceased to amaze, but they still clutter up the space, are difficult to maintain and repair. Minimalistic shower enclosures made of glass partitions and a drain into the floor look much simpler and more pleasant.
Many open shelves
Sometimes you can't do without them, but if possible, replace at least part of the shelves with closed cabinets - use it. Only books and decorative boxes look good on shelves, while they should create an impression of lightness, and not clutter up the space. When hanging open shelves, it is important to remember that things on them need regular cleaning.
A huge number of vases, figurines and photo frames do not decorate the decor, but litter it. The same goes for fridge magnets, which can ruin even the most stylish and thoughtful kitchen interior. If the collection of souvenirs is dear to you, make sure it has a worthy place behind the glass facades.
Before purchasing items for the home, you should weigh all their pros and cons. Perhaps the listed examples are suitable for your interior, but most often these things and materials cause a lot of trouble to their owners.
