Country music harmoniously combines the past and the present, it is at the same time simple and elegant. The most famous versions of the style are Provence (French village), Russian hut and English village. All of them are united by common style features, although, of course, each option has its own national characteristics. Whichever option you choose to decorate a children's room in country style, it should have the following signs:
- the simplest finish, sometimes even rough;
- natural materials in decoration (wood, stone, plaster);
- metal elements in furniture decoration (forging, bronze, brass, copper).
Of course, the option chosen should reflect the history, traditions and culture of the country. Country style in the interior of a children's room provides for the use of furniture of simple shapes, natural textiles with a striped pattern, a cage, polka dots or a small flower. Handmade accessories are welcome: folk toys, rustic homespun rugs, various crafts made of wood and clay, a variety of curtains, blankets, bedspreads.
Color solution
In a country-style nursery, you can use almost any color, but they should have natural shades. Bright “synthetic” and “luminescent” paints are inappropriate here. If a light pastel color is chosen as the main tone, then the upholstery of furniture and textiles can be more saturated, juicy. If the decoration of the room is bright enough, textiles are selected in pastel shades.
The best colors for a country-style nursery are green, yellow, brown, terracotta, blue, orange and all their shades. Natural colors are encouraged, such as apple green, ripe peach, mature wood, grassy, moss.
Finishing
When finishing, you can use a wide variety of materials, depending on the variety of style.
- Walls. In the Provencal version of the country, they leave rough plaster on the walls, the Russian version allows walls made of wooden bars, and the English version allows for wallpaper in a small flower. You can also lay out the walls with tiles, decorative stone, plaster or paint. Usually, the walls are not additionally decorated.
- Floor. It is best to use a parquet board to cover the floor. Some options for country style in the interior of the nursery allow the use of mats, carpets, and even tiles. Tiled floors are covered with carpet runners, knitted from pieces of fabric - similar to Russian huts and ranches of American farmers. The national flavor is manifested in the ornaments of such adornments. Modern materials should be strictly avoided, and especially self-leveling floors - they will fall out of style and create dissonance.
- Ceiling. The ceiling of a country-style nursery can be just white and even, or have some kind of light shade. A completely wooden ceiling is also possible. In both cases, additional decoration will be wooden beams crossing it along or across.
Furniture
Furniture used in the nursery should be as simple as possible, made of natural wood.In this case, the texture of the tree can be seen, but it can also be hidden under a layer of paint. In the Provence version, this paint can be slightly "aged", giving the subject a touch of antiquity. Polished furniture is completely excluded.
Chests of different sizes, boxes, baskets are appropriate in a country-style children's room. They can store toys, drawing supplies and much more that a child needs. The interior can be supplemented with wicker chairs, a rocking chair, a small soft sofa or a bench on which to place soft pillows.
Advice:
- books can be placed on shelves suspended from the ceiling itself;
- for storing toys, you should use wooden chests;
- cabinet doors can be replaced with textile curtains.
Textile
Country style in the interior of a nursery will help emphasize the right textiles. There should be a lot of it, and it should be natural. Unlike the classics, which use expensive fabrics, country-style textiles are simple and democratic, as a rule, chintz, linen, cotton.
Bright colors, stripes, a cage, polka dots, bunches of flowers - all this will fill the room with optimism and make it truly cheerful.
Rustic curtains can be decorated with ribbons, ruffles, laces, and simple cords or even rough ropes can be used as pickups, depending on the chosen direction of style. Patchwork - textile items made in the patchwork technique very much decorates the children's room. Blankets, blankets, pillows made of colorful patches will add coziness and emphasize the chosen style.
