False fireplaces in the interior of the living room

This solution is often used in cottages, private houses and especially in standard city apartments, where it is impossible to build a full-fledged fireplace with wood heating due to the lack of a chimney. Such a fireplace does an excellent job with both functions assigned to it - decorating and heating your home.

The place of false fireplaces in the interior is determined by you. They can be positioned in the center of the wall, in the corner of the room, or even suspended from the ceiling.

Which room will be decorated with a fireplace depends on the preferences of the owner. It will be appropriate in the office, in the bedroom, and in the kitchen, especially if it is large. But the most familiar place for a fireplace is, of course, the living room, where the whole family can gather "for the light."

Types of false fireplaces

False fireplaces in the living room interior can be divided into three groups:

1. imitation with a high degree of reliability;
2. imitation, which has one or another degree of convention;
3. a symbol for a fireplace.

IN first group includes niches built of drywall or even brick-lined niches with a portal. It can be decorated using various finishing materials.

In such a fireplace, you can insert a heater with an imitation of a real fire. The depth of the niche is at least 40 cm. Real logs, stones, sometimes even coals are used as decorative elements in the design of such false fireplaces in the interior.

One of the options for reliable imitation is biofireplaces. They run on organic fuels, usually dry alcohol, and give real fire and heat. True, such a fire looks different from a wood one.

In second group imitation fireplace included. They also have a niche, but its depth does not exceed 20 cm. The niche itself is decorated to resemble a “regular” fireplace, and the hole intended in a real fireplace for the firebox is used in accordance with your own preferences.

You can put candles there, beautiful installations, or even stack a woodpile of thin branches. In order to visually increase the depth of such an imitation to the “prescribed” forty centimeters, you can lay out a niche with a mirror cloth or tiles.

Third group does not imply building a niche for a false fireplace in the interior of the living room or any other room where you decide to create it. You can mark the fireplace on the wall by simply drawing it. Everyone remembers the painted hearth in Papa Carlo's closet?

You can do more cunning. Lay out on the wall a “frame” made of aged boards, decorate it with antique candelabra on both sides, in which you place curly candles, and in the center of the composition a vase with a bouquet of fresh flowers or dried flowers will find its place. If you hang a beautiful mirror in an elegant frame on the wall behind this “frame”, the impression will be complete.

Decor

The decor for false fireplaces in the interior can be diversified and changed for holidays or memorable dates, but in general it should be in harmony with the style and colors of the decoration of the room where you made it.

For example, the New Year can be celebrated with accessories in red, white, green, yellow and white. Wreaths from coniferous legs, fir cones, beautiful Christmas tree decorations - all this is suitable for decoration. Burning candles will serve as a wonderful addition to the New Year mood.

You can wrap the fireplace portal with an electric Christmas tree garland or tinsel - the main thing is not to overdo it with decorations.

False fireplaces can be purchased in stores, or you can do it yourself - it all depends on your needs. In any case, such an addition to the interior will make the house cozier and warmer.
