Mistake 1. Bad color scheme
When designing a kitchen, you must take into account the rule of three colors. If the facades are bright, the rest of the background - walls, an apron, furniture for the dining group - should be neutral. Warm bright accents (yellow, orange, red) look great in white and beige surroundings. And as a background for rich greens and blues, frosty white and light gray shades are suitable.
Mistake 2. Using dark gloss
Smooth surfaces are known to reflect light, optically expanding the space. This is the best option for small kitchens. Dark facades can add depth to a room, but most designers and kitchen owners try to avoid gloss black. Fingerprints are clearly visible on plain lacquered surfaces, especially near handles, as well as dust and dirt. If you choose glossy facades, resigned to the idea of continuous cleaning, all other surfaces should be matte.
Mistake 3. Inappropriate style
When choosing facades, you should take into account the style of the kitchen. The interior design should be thought over before repairing and purchasing a headset. For minimalism and hi-tech, plain products with a laconic design and regular geometric shape are suitable. Facades of white color or with a wood texture will fit into the Scandinavian style. Loft is all about dark shades, rough design and matte surfaces. And the facades in the classical style are made of wood and decorated with mills and frames.
Mistake 4. Alternating colored doors
Do not mix colors on kitchen facades in a checkerboard pattern. This approach to design breaks up the entire composition, making the interior fragmented and untidy. The most modern and practical way to personalize your kitchen is to order the upper hanging cabinets in one shade and the lower ones in the other.
Mistake 5. Buying cheap chipboard facades
In order for the kitchen to serve for many years, you should responsibly choose the material from which the furniture is made. The most budget doors are made from chipboard, but it is not recommended to save on them. Chipboard has the main disadvantage - low moisture resistance. It will be difficult for such products to withstand the effects of steam, hot water, heated dishes and heat from the stove.
Mistake 6. Choosing in favor of film facades
The only plus of PFC coated products is their price. The material reacts to temperature extremes and humidity. If the owner of the kitchen cooks a lot, after a couple of years you may find that the film has swollen, peeled off, or simply peeled off. The most practical and budget option is an MDF kitchen with plastic facades. And, of course, you should trust trusted companies when buying or ordering kitchen furniture.
If the film has peeled off, and it is not planned to change the headset, the facades can be painted by removing the entire film with hot air and a spatula.
Error 7.Poor imitation
Natural materials cost a lot, but modern furniture manufacturers have quite convincingly learned how to stylize both wood and stone. Alas, some companies save on print quality by offering customers deliberately cheap imitations for solid or marble. A poorly imitated texture is easy to spot if you notice repetitive prints or an unnatural pattern.
Mistake 8. Facades with an aluminum frame
In the design projects of modern kitchens, it is impossible to find headsets with a wide metal border that protects the doors. In addition to the outdated look, aluminum frames have another disadvantage: they darken over time due to constant exposure to cleaning agents and create sharp joints at the corner joints.
Error 9. The abundance of glass inserts
Facades with glass are environmentally friendly and give the interior lightness. Unfortunately, such products require constant care, since dust quickly settles on them, and greasy and dirty spots become most noticeable. If you order a set with glass fronts on the upper cabinets, the situation will look overloaded: through transparent, even matte, inserts, the inner filling is clearly visible. The best option is one or two cabinets with transparent doors, behind which it will be easy to keep perfect order.
Error 10. Facades with photo printing
The images printed on the kitchen doors give the interior individuality, but before ordering furniture with photo printing, it is worth weighing all its pros and cons. Bright pictures from the catalog, which occupy a significant area of the room, not only make the interior cheaper, but over time they begin to annoy. If you don't want to restrain your creative impulse, you can purchase facades with a top layer of glass, acting on the principle of a photo frame and making it possible to change images on a daily basis.
Before going to a salon or store, you should determine your needs in advance. When choosing facades, you should not chase fast-paced fashion or cheapness, because a kitchen set is purchased for several years.
