Decluttering
Before planning the interior of a new cabinet or converting an old one, it is important to get rid of everything unnecessary. Things that you don't like, but are still in good condition, should be offered to friends or to the "Give for free" group.

Another way - send to containers for charity. Items in poor condition can be thrown away or recycled.
If you love handicrafts, you can sew decorative pillowcases, rugs, or drag a stool or chair out of quality clothing. The main thing is not to put it on the back burner.
Barbells
Usually the largest compartments are occupied by clothes hanging from a hanger. For women's items (mainly dresses), a compartment with a height of about half a meter should be planned.
If long outerwear is hanging in the closet, the height should be 175 cm. For short things, you can provide bars in two rows - above and below. Shirts, sweaters, skirts and trousers will fit there. They are require less space and save space.
Drawers
The indisputable benefit of boxes is that they allow you to easily inspect all the contents. They are more ergonomic than shelves and ideal for small items - underwear, socks, gloves. The most convenient modern drawers have a transparent front wall, but are expensive.
If the area of the cabinet allows, you can place a small chest of drawers inside or purchase plastic containers with lids that are stacked on top of each other.
Baskets, boxes and bags
Optimal use of the space of the upper shelves - storing things that are rarely needed: suitcases, spare blankets and pillows, seasonal clothes. But if the upper tiers are constantly involved, it is worth purchasing several baskets or boxes. It will be easier to remove them from the shelves in order to get the right thing without getting up the stool.
If shoes are stored at the bottom of the closet, place them in boxes and sign, for example: "Black high-heeled boots." This will help you find the shoes you need faster. The adventurous can take a picture of each pair and glue the printed pictures onto the boxes.
Another great way to save space in your closet and free up more accessible shelves is to vacuum pack seasonal items. They will reliably protect clothes from dust and insects and will triple the cabinet's capacity.
Tiered hangers
In order for more clothes to fit in the same usable space of the closet, sometimes special hangers are enough. This is convenient, because instead of 3-5 hooks on the bar there will be only one. The zigzag hanger is convenient for placing trousers.
The cheapest are plastic products, but they are not particularly durable. Wooden models are much better quality, but also more expensive. The best option is metal multi-tiered hangers.
And the simplest solution is a hanger with tiered hooks. A similar design can be made with your own hands using a plastic chain and several hangers.
Organizers
The shape of the textile "shelves", which fill the space vertically as much as possible, depends on your needs.
- Rectangular organizers serve as an additional storage place for light clothes: T-shirts, towels, hats.
- There are also hanging modules for bags and pockets for compact placement of linen. Thanks to the transparent material from which the "shelves" are made, the contents of the compartments are clearly visible.
- Some pieces are easy to sew on your own - the main thing is to choose a wear-resistant fabric.
Use of sashes
If the cabinet is hinged, its doors can also be functional. It is worth fixing the rails on the doors - and there will be a convenient place for storing accessories: belts, scarves and jewelry.
Hanging pockets store shoes, mesh baskets for twisted socks and T-shirts.
If you approach the organization of the closet with imagination, you can not only increase its usable area, but put it in order forever.
