Dishwashers can be divided into two classes, like most kitchen appliances: some are built into furniture, others stand on their own. If you have already decided that you are buying a dishwasher even before you started repairing it, it makes sense to think about integrating it into the furniture.
Appearance of a built-in type dishwashing machine. Usually the control panel is brought out to the end of the door.
Disadvantages of a dishwasher, bought already in a ready-made, renovated kitchen - you will have to put it separately, which means there is a risk of “not getting into” the general style of the room. Here you will have to make a choice based on the size of the kitchen itself, the number of people in the family and the volume of dishes that you routinely wash per day. Such cars come in various colors, for example, in addition to the standard white - black, metallic, red.
The appearance of a freestanding dishwasher. The control panel is located on the front of the door, usually at the top of the door.
We list all the advantages of a dishwasher
- Time. This machine will save at least a couple of hours a day if you trust it to do the dishes. It can be devoted to much more enjoyable activities.
- Convenience. The dishwasher is simple and convenient to use, even children can use it.
- Saving. A simple calculation shows that the manual method of washing dishes consumes from 30 to 60 liters of water in half an hour. During the same operating time, the dishwasher will use 10 to 15 liters. Now that almost every family has water meters, this is very important.
- Purity. The cons of a dishwasher is usually written down the consumption of special detergents. In fact, this does not take more money than ordinary dishwashing liquids, but the result is significantly different: the machine easily cleans the walls and bottom of pots, pans, burnt food from the bottom and other complex contaminants.
- Disinfection. Do i need a dishwasher? If the family has a small child, the answer to this question must be yes. Only a dishwasher can thoroughly clean the dishes from pathogenic microbes, because the water temperature in it can be raised to 100 degrees.
- Automation. Even if you have hot water turned off or there is no hot water supply at all, the dishwasher has it: the water will be heated automatically, just like in the washing machine.
- Autonomy. The significant advantages of the dishwasher include the possibility of its operation without the presence of a person at any given time.
- Safety. The opinion that the dishwasher spoils the dishes is wrong. In fact, it retains its appearance, since no abrasives and brushes are applied when washing.
- Simplicity. The disadvantages of a dishwasher conditionally include the need to contact professionals to install it. This is the only way you will have a guarantee in the event of a breakdown. Although what could be simpler: I called the masters, and now the machine is connected, because it is really simple, you only need an entrance to the sewer and an outlet from the water supply.
- Safety. As in the washing machine, the dishwasher is designed to stop the water supply in the event of a malfunction, that is, you are guaranteed against flooding. This function is called aqua-stop.
- Sound. Do not be afraid that the car will keep you awake at night - almost all of them run silently.
Minuses
It is impossible to answer the question of whether your family needs a dishwasher without considering also all the disadvantages of this unit.
- Electricity. Of course, the car will cause additional power consumption. But here you need to think what is more important for you - saving time or money. However, Class A cars consume less than one kilowatt per hour.
- A place. A full dishwasher sometimes has nowhere to put. Due to lack of space, you should not refuse to buy, pay attention to small machines for 2 - 6 sets of dishes. However, it is better to foresee where you will put the dishwasher at the stage of planning the repair.
- Funds. You will need to purchase additional consumables: rinses and water softeners, special tablets for dishwashers. But these costs are usually offset by the savings that the machine provides.
- Rubbish. One of the disadvantages of a dishwasher is the need to pre-rinse the dishes in order to remove food debris.
- Care. The machine requires additional care, in particular, you will have to remove and wash the mesh filters from time to time.
Obviously, there are much more pluses than minuses. And whether your family needs a dishwasher and whether it is worth buying is up to you at the family council.
