Leave in the package - cheaper
It takes a lot of money to get a suitable container for all the products used in cooking. Containers are a cheap option, but you need to change a lot of them and change them regularly, and here the costs are already imposed and significantly increase.
If, nevertheless, you decide to stop at containers, then give preference only to food-grade plastic products (marked in the form of a spoon and fork or a glass) that are odorless. An even less expensive way of storage is ordinary glass jars with lids.
But if savings come first, factory packaging will be the smartest solution - just put them on the shelf.
Containers save space
If your goal is organize storage in the kitchen for all ergonomic rules, choose special containers. Optimal shape for them - rectangular.
These products take up less space and are much more stable when stacked. Sometimes even a few centimeters play an important role when distributing the contents among the lockers.
Shifting food is labor intensive
Which is faster - pouring cereals into containers each time or just putting boxes and bags on the shelf? Of course, the second. In addition, containers need to be washed periodically and dried properly. And sometimes everything is distracted and crumbled - such cleaning is always at the wrong time. For those who need to save time and effort, storage in original packaging is the best option.
Banks look stylish
To do not litter the kitchen visually, we hide unsightly packages behind closed facades. But opening kitchen cabinets every day, we have to examine the entire "assortment", sometimes feeling annoyed by the abundance of assorted packaging.
On the contrary, you won't want to hide glass jars with hinged lids - they look so attractive that you can decorate with some open shelves.
Packaging preserves food better
Let's make a clarification right away - the closed factory bag is sufficiently sealedto preserve its contents. If you buy bulk products for future use and in large quantities, it makes no sense to immediately pour them into other containers. When closed, they will last longer.
Containers are resistant
Unlike bags of cereals, plastic or glass containers do not fall or crumble. It is practical and convenient.
If you store cereals in packaging, select a tray or basket for them, thereby combining assorted bags and boxes - this will not only protect the cereals from spilling, but also make the contents of the cabinets more neat.
Factory packaging cluttering the shelves
What is inside the package is far from garbage, but the crumpled container itself with colorful pictures and letters in combination with plastic bags often looks like the contents of a garbage can.
Clothespins of the same color will partly save the situation: you need to carefully wrap the edges of the package and fix them, but this is not an equivalent replacement for the aesthetics of containers.
Containers are more practical
Another advantage of special storage containers is the ability to control the amount of cereals, pasta and sugar. Choose clear glass or plastic jars to see at a glance how much product is left.
Glass containers are suitable for ideal storage of cereals: the material does not absorb odors, does not deform and is easier to care for. Plastic containers are cheaper, but over time they lose their tightness, wear out faster and require replacement.
Packages are inconvenient
First of all, soft bags are uncomfortable to use during cooking. It is easy to pour cereals through small holes, but there is a high risk of adding excess when cooking.
Fully opened packs are convenient if the recipe requires a small amount of the product: for example, a teaspoon of sugar. But the storage of such a package is difficult, and besides, it can simply break. Special containers eliminate these disadvantages.
Containers keep insects away
If you choose a plastic container or glass jar with a tight-fitting lid, insects will not damage your cereals - they will not be able to get inside.
If the package is open, small pests can settle in the food. Some insects do not see obstacles in a closed bag, as they are able to eat through polyethylene.
When choosing a storage method that suits you, be guided by your own preferences. It is optimal to use special containers for only part of the food, and for everything else, prepare spacious baskets to organize the little things.
