Ceiling options
By design, depending on the complexity and combination of forms, plasterboard ceilings are classified into 3 types.
Sibling
This is a simple finishing option in which the drywall sheets are attached at the same level. Even a thin sheet perfectly levels the surface and after filling and painting, they resemble a traditional plastered ceiling. This solution is applicable for bedrooms of any area, but most of all it will be appropriate for small rooms.
Two-tier
Bunk ceilings consist of 2 parts, which are fixed at different levels, forming a recess - a niche. The latter is a higher section of the suspension system, to which the lower tier of slabs is mounted by means of gutters. They are curly, in the form of a wave, etc.
Multilevel (3 or more levels)
This option involves two or more levels. The profile frame on which the gypsum boards are attached is formed according to the type of steps, at different heights. Such a constructive solution allows you to focus on individual areas of the bedroom.

When decorating the ceiling in the bedroom, there are no frames and restrictions, both individual styles and their combinations are used, with the use of different decorative elements.
Backlit
When installing a plasterboard ceiling, any lighting system is installed. Each of the devices has advantages. For example, the baroque style will perfectly complement the traditional chandelier, spots and spotlights will help to zone the space, the LED strip organizes hidden lighting.
Drawings and patterns
To create volumetric compositions on the ceiling plane, GVL sheets are used. They are decorated by drawing on the surface, putty, modeling, hand painting.
Combination with stretch ceiling
An interesting design move for the bedroom is the combination of plasterboard filing with stretch ceiling elements. Usually, the design is made two-level, where the niche is occupied by PVC film, and a plasterboard box protrudes along the edges.
Bicolor
The contrast of shapes and colors can profitably increase the space and give the room originality. The ceiling composition is created by combining two shades in harmony with each other, wall and floor decoration.
Variants of shapes and figures on the ceiling
The properties of the material allow even extraordinary ideas to be brought to life. The most popular for the bedroom is the following geometry of the ceilings:
- Circles and ovals. Such ceiling structures, as a rule, are made in a two-tier format, where the niche space takes on an oval or round shape. They are able to visually adjust the space.
- Rectangles and squares. The classic type of execution of a suspended ceiling, applicable for a multi-tiered frame. With this design, a niche is made in the form of a rectangle or square and is able to visually enlarge the room.
- Triangles. An especially daring decision when decorating a bedroom in an ultramodern style. The drywall frame is created in several levels, the highest of which takes a triangular shape.
- Non-standard. Abstractions and other unusual designs (flowers, leaves, curls, clouds, etc.) not related to specific geometric configurations.
Design options in various styles
The plasterboard ceiling is made for any style direction. The most popular options:
- Classical... The ceilings are a perfectly flat and smooth surface, with a possible niche or small stepped tiers. The color of the finish is chosen based on the preferences of the owner, but more often these are light colors. The decor is also set by curly vaults, stucco elements, etc.
- Modern... High-tech, art-deco, minimalism, modernist plasterboard constructions allow any geometry, but more often discreet regular forms are chosen, no frills, which do not create clutter. Such bedrooms are characterized by maximum simplicity and laconic design.
Ideas for the interior of custom bedrooms

Small room
In a small bedroom, a composition is chosen that minimizes the effect of reducing space. The profiles are mounted with the smallest possible gap, avoiding complex structures. The color range is chosen in light and pastel tones.
Attic
When equipping a bedroom on the attic floor, drywall is an ideal option for ceiling decoration. It is easy to install, lightweight, able to improve sound insulation and is characterized by excellent performance.
Children bedroom
When designing a plasterboard ceiling design in a children's bedroom, the wishes and needs of the child are taken into account. If this is a girl, then fabulous compositions, bright and warm colors will be appropriate. The teenager will be interested in a bedroom with a different theme - stricter colors, play of light, a variety of forms. To create an atmosphere of magic, the ceiling is zoned over the bed.
