To make a pencil holder, prepare the following materials:
- a cardboard cylinder (you can take a roll of toilet paper or a solid roll of wallpaper as a basis);
- jute twine;
- cardboard;
- colored paper;
- a piece of dense fabric (you can use velor or velvet to make the pencil holder more stable);
- piece of tape;
- decorative button;
- Super glue;
- hammer and nails (if the roll is made of high density cardboard);
- PVA glue.
To make a pencil holder with your own hands, start with a stand. From cardboard (or high density paper), cut a circle around the diameter of your cylinder, attach it to the cylinder with super glue to make the bottom of the pencil holder. If the board is very thick, use a hammer and small nails to do it.
From colored paper, cut 2 circles with a diameter equal to the cardboard circle. Paste them over the bottom outside and inside the cylinder.
Next, we glue the walls of the cylinder from the inside with colored paper.
To make a pencil holder carefully, on the outer edge of the bottom, apply a little PVA glue, and put jute twine on top. When it grabs a little, we begin to glue the cylinder with jute cord, winding it coil by coil.
Manufacturing process do-it-yourself pencil holders almost completed. It remains to stick a velvet or velor fabric circle on the bottom, and decorate with a ribbon to which a bow is attached.
The final touch is to sew the button with bright thread into the center of the bow.
