Arrange a general cleaning
After winter, the country house must be inspected from the attic to the basement, remove mold, if it appears, dry the building by opening windows and doors. During drying, it is worth getting rid of the trash if it is useless and takes up a lot of space. To quickly clean the room, you need to follow a strict sequence: first, a broom (vacuum cleaner), then a damp cloth. You should walk around all corners and the ceiling, removing dust and cobwebs, then disinfect the surfaces. The most budgetary way is to use acetic acid.
Refresh facade
Thanks to the exterior decoration, the country house will acquire an updated look and will look more neat and attractive. The most cost-effective way is to paint the facade. To transform your home, use a special outdoor paint, roller or brush. For quick and economical painting, you can use a spray gun: even the simplest device allows you to get an excellent effect. If you need to renew darkened wood, you will need chlorine bleaching compounds.
Other ways of finishing the facade:
- Lining. Eco-friendly and reliable material. Plating, which only takes a few days, is easy to handle on your own.
- Siding. Artificial analogue of already painted wood. Relatively inexpensive and durable.
- Decorative plaster. An inexpensive way of facing a house from aerated concrete blocks.
The exterior design of the building, if desired, is carried out by hand without the involvement of qualified craftsmen.
Do interior decoration
The desire to return under the roof after resting or working in the fresh air depends on the interior of a country house. The most inexpensive materials for wall cladding: wallpaper, paint, lining. If the wallpaper is glued soundly, you can use a special paint for all types of wallpaper in order to quickly and inexpensively lighten the interior. If the walls are lined with clapboard, you can get rid of the annoying yellowness by painting the boards or whitening them and preserving the wood pattern. For the capital alignment of the walls, drywall or plywood is used.
Tidy up the frames
Windows are the "eyes" of the house. Painting the frames in a different shade will allow you to instantly change its appearance. After updating the frames, you must wash them without leaving streaks. And to decorate the windows and make them unique, you can hang boxes with earth and plant decorative flowering plants in them. With flowers, any unremarkable house will look well-groomed and elegant.
Refine furniture
Often furniture that has served its time in a city apartment is sent to the dacha. But this is not a reason to give up beauty. An old sofa can be refurbished by cleaning and upholstery in natural fabric or covered with a cover. A blanket that will cover the flaws will also do. Bright pillows are placed on top. For the dining table, it is better to purchase a new tablecloth - many modern products look like fabric, but dirt on them can be easily removed with a damp cloth.Old wardrobes, dressers and chairs can be refurbished (sanded and varnished) or simply painted.
Hang up new curtains
Even using old furniture in the country, you should not hang faded textiles on the windows. Time-torn curtains
immediately catch the eye, as they take up a lot of space and attract attention. New curtains will refresh the interior, fill the room with light and comfort.
Bring treasures from the forest
If the dacha is located not far from the forest, it is worth taking a walk through it in search of beautiful branches, from which it is easy to make do it yourself hanger. From the collected cones, you can make a wreath or just put them in a round vase. Forest moss is easy to stabilize in glycerin and then turn into a gorgeous green panel.
Also in the forest there are charming plants that will take root in their summer cottage:
- Ferns.
- Quivering bells.
- Forget-me-nots.
- Periwinkle.
- Berry bushes.
- Oregano.
There are other ways to get free seeds and tree saplings. There is no need to write off the good old exchange and good neighborly relations.
Decorate a summer cottage
A beautiful country house needs an attractive background. The most economical but fun way to decorate a garden is to use natural materials and old garden tools as flower beds: wide stumps, wheelbarrows, watering cans, wooden boxes and baskets. Stones that can be found in nature will serve as a good help in decorating a summer cottage. To make the site look more presentable, you can make paths from tree cuts or concrete tiles.
Organize a recreation area
To complete the look of a country house, a canopy is suitable, which can be built from wooden beams, polycarbonate sheets or corrugated board. An easier way is to purchase a ready-made tent and assemble it as needed. Also, the recreation area can be organized from improvised materials - long slats and fabric that will shelter from the sun. Bedspreads, mattresses, sun loungers or a hammock are usually placed under a kind of canopy. Such a cozy place will delight anyone.
To transform a country house, it is not necessary to invest fabulous sums: enough imagination, love of creativity and work.
