Design guidelines
The beige color creates a lasting association with comfort, relaxation, stability. Therefore, it is often used in interior design, because even small details will make the house more comfortable. At the same time, you should not consider the beige color scheme boring - there are about 1000 tones, including light shades, neutral, dark, simple and complex.
- The beige color in the interior is also acceptable on the largest surfaces, for example, in wall decoration. Like white, beige is universal: it does not attract too much attention, it creates the perfect tone for decorative elements and bright accents. Will be "on topic" both in the hall and in the office or hallway. Great for northern rooms, making them warmer. In rooms with south-facing windows, beige walls are able to neutralize the heat. Wallpaper or choose the paint according to the size and location of the room: for small and sunny ones, a cold light shade (a mixture of beige and gray, for example, can expand the space), for spacious and cold ones - warm, medium saturation.
- The second largest detail in any room is the curtains. Beige curtains they warm even on cold winter evenings, set the mood, suit any style and design. But keep in mind that they practically do not absorb light, therefore, in the interior of the bedroom, it is permissible to use only blackouts (when there is a black thread in the weaving of the fabric).
- A living room in beige tones will not do without the main attribute - sofa... The versatility of colors allows it to be used in any room - small, large, classic or modern, with rich décor or minimalistic design. At the same time, the upholstery is not too easily soiled - on white, for example, all possible stains are visible, on dark - dust and animal hair. Beige successfully neutralizes any specks and the sofa always looks great, for which it won its popularity.
- In the kitchen, a bright accent will be beige kitchen set... Usually cabinet furniture in this color is used in a classic style - a shade of natural wood, facades with glass, milling. But even in a modern modern or high-tech kitchen with smooth glossy doors, it remains appropriate. You can often find a combination of beige and brown, when the upper tier of the cabinets is light and the lower one is dark.
With the help of just one color and its shades, you can create a complete design of any room: light tones are used for the base, dark tones are used to highlight and give the effect of depth.
In what colors is it better to decorate the interior?
Shades of beige depend on which color the base is mixed with (white + brown):
- Grey... A neutral color between warm and cold.
- Green... Two colors fading into olive green create a sense of tranquility.
- Yellow... This combination of beige is closer to gold - warm and sunny.
- Pink... The tone becomes brighter, goes into red or peach.
It may seem that they are all the same, but when you look closely and apply the subtones to each other, you will see the difference: warmer, colder, lighter, darker, richer. The rich color scheme allows you to use beige as the main, additional and even accent color.
When creating an interior in beige tones, pay attention to their temperature: the design will look more harmonious if you use cold with cold, warm with warm. In order not to miscalculate with a combination of beige, take the tones of one color scheme: lilac, peach, gray, orange.
Most popular combinations
In combination with other colors, even the usual sandy color will sparkle with new colors.
The combination of beige and gray in the interior
This tandem has its own name: greige - from the English "gray" and "beige". Such a combination of beige is rarely used, and in vain! Two neutral calm shades together form a rather interesting combination: grey cools the atmosphere, beige warms it with warmth.
No shade should prevail - companions should be used in equal proportions. Gray walls, sand sofa and curtains, gray armchair, pillows and blankets, other interior details in beige.
So that the overall look does not seem boring, dilute with color accents: emerald, indigo, burgundy.
Examples of beige and blue in the interior
Like fire and ice, sun and water, these colors are two parts of one whole, and when beige and blue meet, they level and balance each other.
In all rooms of the apartment, it is logical to take beige as a background when renovating, and accentuate the details in blue: pillows, paintings, curtains, small chair or pouf decorate the room.
Blue - dark, so both muted and rich colors go well with it - Irish cream, coffee, cinnamon, coriander, suede.
Design in beige and green tones
As in the case of brown, nature itself created this palette. With the help of unsaturated (light green, mint, green tea), you can add freshness to the room. Dark ones (emerald, malachite), on the contrary, make it heavier, make the interior in beige tones elegant and expensive.
Bright turquoise use it with extreme caution and dosage: the combination will look beneficial if you resort to the 80/20 rule. Small pillows, blankets, paintings, individual chairs, a coffee table can be turquoise.
Combination of beige and brown
This combination is dictated by nature itself: it is calm, simple and understandable. Brown here it acts as a darker, highlighting - with it you can achieve a feeling of depth, push the walls apart, raise the ceiling.
To make the design more interesting, play with textures: brick walls, leather armchair, wooden furniture, velvet or matting sofa.
In small rooms, the main one should be a light palette, and dark coffee or chocolate should only be used to highlight individual details. In a spacious room, on the contrary, the walls can be dark, and the furniture and decor can be sandy.
Beige and blue tones
Less contrasting combination than with blue, so choose a light scale:
- almonds, vanilla, biscuit, ivory from beige;
- heavenly, polar, gray-blue, pale blue from blue.
A wonderful tandem for a child's boy - the interior in a beige palette will turn out to be not too soft, but not icy either. Often used in living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens - a refreshing, calm, pacifying combination.
Beige with pink tones
This duet will look great not only in children's room for girlsbut also in the living room, bathroom and even in the kitchen. Composition pink and beige are often used in modern styles, it does not look boring, refreshes, energizes.
As the main color, light pink is relaxing, if you want to achieve a romantic setting, take it as an additional one.
Interior in beige tones with bright shades
Beige walls in the interior will be an excellent canvas for bright colors:
- Yellow... Both colors are reminiscent of gold, so the finished design looks not only bright, but also expensive. For a duet, choose a warm yellow range: pear, saffron. It is also better to choose shades from beige with an admixture of yellowness.
- Red... An energetic, even aggressive shade. Do not overdo it with its use: scarlet curtains or accent wall - this is too much. But small accessories will make the room more dynamic.
- Purple... Dark on light looks harmonious, but it is best if the beige itself is mixed with lilac color scheme. Feel free to use purple in large details - headboard, curtains, bench.
Design options in various styles
The use of beige in the interior primarily depends on the style. For example, in Scandinavian it is used extremely limitedly or avoided altogether, replacing it with gray and white colors. But in other interior styles, beige plays the main roles:
Classic. With its distant golden tint, the soft beige is considered one of the best colors to create. exquisite classic design... It looks great on rich furniture, surrounded by exquisite decorative elements, luxury.
Eco style. Natural textures such as wood and natural stone are important style elements and work well with both light concrete and dark leather.
Country. A rustic design based on rough shapes allows you to look at beige from a different angle. It is still basic, but in the form of a raw tree or plasters looks very different.
Minimalism. Due to the almost complete lack of decor, the style cannot be called cozy, but the warm range makes it more homey. A combination of white and beige is often used - clean, calm, without unnecessary details.
Provence. French country is remembered in pastel blue, lilac shades - wheat will be an excellent base for them! Gray and white lose here, they are not so cozy.
How does it look in the interior of different rooms?
Living room interior should be conducive to relaxation, pleasant communication, warm family evenings. Beige walls and floors, upholstered furniture, curtains create a cozy atmosphere. We decorate the walls with a light monochromatic covering, put a sofa in neutral upholstery, hang a bright picture above it (flowers, abstraction), lay a carpet - voila, your room looks perfect!
On the kitchen try to create a cozy yet functional interior. White, brown, blue, purple, green sets are in harmony with the cream-colored walls. Or vice versa - let the cabinets and facades be in a shade of beige (for the classics, decoration in gold is permissible), and the walls - white, pastel, dark.
For contrast, choose natural textiles in one color - plant motifs that are repeated on tablecloths, towels, and potholders look amazing.
In the bedroom, you will recuperate, and the soothing properties of beige do this in the best possible way. Sleeping room can be decorated completely in sandy shades of different saturations: light walls, a darker bed and curtains, chocolate decor.
IN children's room the shade itself looks universal, so if a brother and sister share the space, choose this color as the main one. In individual rooms, they are diluted with blue, pink, lilac, yellow.
In finishing bathroom a lot of cold materials - tiles, faience, stone, metal. The beige scale will smooth out the coldness, visually "warm" the bathroom: therefore, if you like to lie in the bath after a hard day, take this tone as a basis.
Beige is not boring! Explore the richness of its shades, combine them with each other and with other colors for a cozy, stylish space.
