Style features
You will immediately recognize the high-tech style in the interior. And all thanks to the distinctive features that are inherent mainly in this direction:
- Geometry... Even abstract figures, often used as accents, have straight forms, straight lines. Hi-tech is not about smooth curves, but about clarity in design.
- Smooth, cold textures... Plastic, glass and metal - these are the three that meet all the requirements of high-tech finishing. Surfaces are chosen glossy, reflective: chrome-plated metal parts, glass partitions, mirrors, glossy facades.
- Monochrome... Although blue, red, orange elements are included in the design for decorativeness, the main color scheme is black and white. Less often, warm colors are chosen - beige, brown.
- Lighting... Designers pay maximum attention to light: it can be built-in decorative, or quite functional ceiling, floor, table. The main thing is the set of points.
- High tech... High-tech is impossible to imagine without futuristic electronics or fashionable technology. The ideal option is to install a smart home system, when any object can be controlled from a smartphone.
What colors should you use?
The characteristic palette of the style primarily rests on the textures used: white or black (less often sandy) plastic panels, gray metal with a silvery sheen. Therefore, as far as the palette is concerned, hi-tech spaces are quite boring.
In the classic version, cold white prevails (snowy, brilliant, smoky), while individual details are made dark.
If the light space seems boring, make the black elements larger - for example, put the kitchen unit in anthracite color. Or even use a shade of graphite as the main one: in decoration, furniture, decor.
What to consider when repairing?
Since repairs traditionally start from the ceiling, let's look at it first. Hi-tech is one of the few modern trends where a glossy or matte stretch ceiling will fit perfectly. But do not go into complex structures or designs - stop at a single-level version of white.
More suitable original rack and pinion: made of natural wood (one of the few options when it will be in the subject), or suspended metal lamellas. Bare concrete looks unusual, but modern: true hi-tech becomes similar to a minimalistic loft.
Moving on to the high-tech walls. As with any minimalistic design, the best choice would be painting: in white, gainsborough, beige or even graphite.
However, for decoration was originally often used wall panels: this solution is good because you can build in the backlight, equipment, and hide communications (pipes, wires) in the box. When ordering mdf panels, choose geometric shapes: triangles, squares, rectangles.
They finish the interior decoration with a floor - and there are many questions to this surface. On the one hand, the classic is a wooden texture. But in high-tech, it looks too warm, although it is regularly used.
If you want to achieve a clearer match - pay attention to light or, conversely, dark cold wood. Other suitable materials are tiles, bulk acrylic or epoxy, quartz vinyl or stone-look laminate, concrete.
One last tip - do not be afraid of textures. Concrete (to a greater extent) and wood (to a lesser extent) will make austere hi-tech spaces more unusual.
What kind of furniture will fit?
Hull
High-tech cabinets, sideboards, chests of drawers - a combination of functionality and aesthetics. Outside, either simple (option No. 1) - straight shapes, with glossy or matte laconic facades... The door handles are not used; instead, fittings are installed in the cabinets that open the doors with a click.
The second option for external design is abstraction. Cabinets, tables are not made straight, but angular - such furniture has futuristic features, it looks very interesting.
Advice! To disguise a wardrobe in a wall or niche, order facades and wall false panels in the same style: this way the built-in furniture will remain invisible.
Soft
Choosing a sofa in a high-tech living room, pay attention to the shape: the simpler the better. AND upholstery - suitable artificial or natural leather, suede. Less often choose a matting, flock.
But when arranging high-tech in the interior, more attention should be paid to the choice of armchairs and chairs. Bizarrely shaped single seats can completely change the look of a room and become a great accent in a living room or kitchen. Ball-shaped chairs or rocking chairs with metal bases will do.
The nuances of organizing lighting
We have already noted that the high-tech style in the interior of an apartment cannot be imagined without light. Lamps are hung on the ceiling, walls, placed on the floor, tables, cabinets. They should be divided into zones at the planning stage, so that a wire or an outlet is made under each lamp.
Moreover, if the lighting of furniture (shelves, floating beds, shelves, wardrobes) is more of a decoration, then sconces and floor lamps perform an understandable task of increasing the luminous flux.
With all the variety of lighting devices, there are almost no chandeliers in designs: instead of them, recessed panels, spots, diode tapes.
Another option for replacing a chandelier is a huge overhanging floor lamp. They are installed in such a way that the lampshade hangs exactly over the chair, table or other necessary place.
What decor should I use?
High-tech jewelry is stingy: nevertheless, it is always better to choose the second between the next vase or picture and the preservation of minimalism. But you can't go without decor, so designers recommend using neutral large elements: clocks, paintings, decor panels made in high-tech colors.
On surfaces you can place vases or plates, stacks of books, live plants - they look great succulents in angular florariums.
Important! High-tech decor should have a non-standard shape, but a neutral shade.
Which textiles are right for you?
Window decoration options differ depending on the designers, the environment and the tasks. If you need to hide from the sun it is better to use jalousie or roller blinds, as a last resort - laconic sliding blackout curtains. To decorate the opening, transparent tulle is suitable.
Classic textiles for bedrooms and living rooms include pillows, throws, bedspreads. In high-tech, of course, they are also used - but the amount of soft parts should be minimized. Plus to everything sofa cushions it's better not to stand out - order them in the same fabric as the furniture or choose the most neutral accessories.
All of the above applies to towels in the bathroom: no bright textiles with patterns, inscriptions. Replace with plain towels from the same collection.
What does it look like in the interior of the rooms?
After carefully studying the general characteristics of the style, it's time to move on to a more detailed examination of each individual room.
Kitchen
It is advisable to choose a built-in kitchen set, it is desirable that the cabinets occupy the entire space from wall to wall, from floor to ceiling. Facades - no handles. The technology is modern, with touch control.
In technical kitchens, it is appropriate backlight apron, which is better to do from shiny porcelain stoneware or skinals.
Living room
The main elements of the main living room are a sofa, a stylish armchair, a plasma screen and a console under the TV. If more storage space is required, a built-in wall can be made instead of the latter.
Don't forget decorative light - smooth or clear lines of light will give the interior dynamics.
Bedroom
Since the bedrooms do not differ in the variety of furniture, beds are given the solo part. Often in high-tech bedrooms use the so-called soaring models - a similar design in combination with illumination at the bottom looks cosmic.
Hallway and corridor
The main secret of design lies in closed storage systems. In the correct hallway of this direction, clothes and shoes are stored behind blind doors. Only a comfortable seat, mirrors, perhaps a small console for keys and other little things are in sight.
Take a look more examples of high-tech hallway decoration.
High-tech bathroom
A bathroom is one of the rooms that can be easily decorated in a given concept. Firstly, it does not require softening of cold textures: glossy tiles, matte facades, glass and mirror are appropriate here like nowhere else.
Secondly, there are not many things in the bathroom. In order not to spoil the appearance of the room after finishing with multi-colored jars and towels, consider closed storage systems for cosmetics and choose plain textiles.
Advice! Today, there are special heated cabinets in which you can store towels - they will dry from artificial heat even in a closed case.
High-tech children's room
Such a design is rarely found in nurseries: and in vain! Although decorating a room, observing all the canons, is not easy, the result can exceed all expectations: the space will resemble the side of a spaceship.
Advice! Do not refuse to use a non-standard color in the nursery - complement the black and white base with blue, red, yellow, green details.
Beautiful design ideas
Naked hi-tech may seem uncomfortable and unsuitable for residential buildings to many. But if the direction is pretty, try taking it as a basis and diluting it with warmer colors or textures, as in the photo below.
And if the space has already been decorated, but you want to add technological notes, use recognizable style details. for example, a ball chair or a huge floor lamp.
Hi-tech is a complex and expensive style to implement, but it looks appropriate. If you love everything new and modern, you will definitely appreciate the interior.
