How to choose the best place?
The organization of the student's workplace begins with the choice of a suitable point. Don't settle for a free corner, it's better rearrange the roomby placing the training area over all rules:
- Daylight... Most often, children do their homework during the daytime, why not take advantage of this to save on electricity? Move workplace for schoolchildren to the window: Place it opposite, with your back to the opening or sideways, depending on the available space.
Advice! The optimal position of the table is sideways to the window opening. For right-handers, the window should remain on the left, for left-handers, respectively, on the right.
- Zoning... Wherever the desk is located, separate it from the play and sleeping area. This is especially important for primary school students, the correct division of space will not allow them to be distracted from their studies.
- Privacy... The worst option for the location of the working area for two is to put the chairs opposite. Children will interfere with each other doing their homework - it is better to put the seats with backs or parallel.
How to properly equip the workplace?
We turn to the choice of basic furniture for the workplace for the child.
Table
The best option - growing desk with adjustable table height. Since children grow up fast enough, it is expensive to constantly change the elements of the working area - it is better to spend money on high-quality furniture once so as not to worry about the health of the child's back.
The second advantage of modern school desks is the ergonomic forward tilt at an angle of 15 degrees. This proven method helps maintain vision and correct posture.
If, for some reason, parents do not want to purchase a model with adjustment, you need to choose a table for the following parameters:
- The minimum width, depth of the tabletop is determined by the position of the elbows: they should not hang down. The generally accepted minimum standard is 60 * 60 centimeters, but models with a width of 0.8-1 m are more convenient.
- The height of the working surface is 2-3 cm below chest level: this ensures correct posture, comfortable position of arms and legs during exercise.
Chair
When a child's desk is not adjustable, it is convenient to have at least an adjustable chair. Therefore, the classic model with metal legs is not the most practical option. Modern plastic transformers have come to replace bulky school chairs, but it is not very convenient to constantly push in, adjust the height of the seat for growth.
Today's popular swivel chairs on wheels are more comfortable, but more suitable for adult children: at the time of posture formation, it is better to choose an orthopedic model.
Orthopedic chairs are knee, chair type.
- The first ones do not have a back, the child rests mainly on his knees: sitting on one is not very comfortable, but the back will remain straight, and the spine will be healthy.
- The second has an adjustable anatomical back and seat, most models have a foot or knee support. Perhaps the appearance of such chairs will not fit into the design, but the student's workplace will be safe.
What do you need to know about lighting?
To organize a workplace for a student, just a school desk with a chair is not enough: you need to take care of adequate lighting.
The light should be bright, abundant, temperature - neutral (more pleasing to the eye).
Select one or more sources:
- Table lamp... It is not for nothing that the model has become a classic of the working area - it is easy to direct the plafond to a textbook or notebook by adjusting the degree of illumination by approaching or moving away from the object.
- Ceiling lamp... Since it is located at an impressive distance from the surface, it rather acts as a main light, requiring an additional point closer to the table.
- Sconce... Choose ones that shine downward and are on an adjustable leg - a great option to save space on your countertop. In addition, a sconce, unlike a table lamp, cannot be accidentally dropped by a child on the floor.
- Floor lamp... When there is no room on the table, the lamp is placed on the floor.
Important! To properly equip the light source, pay attention to which hand the child is writing with: with the left - then the light should fall from the right. For right-handers, the opposite is true.
How to properly organize storage?
In order for the child to be comfortable doing homework, the tabletop should remain as free as possible. At the same time, access to all necessary office supplies, books, educational materials should remain simple and convenient.
That is, it is necessary to organize storage areas directly in the working area - here, as in the kitchen, it will be extremely inconvenient to walk from table to cabinet across the entire room.
Keeping order will be helped by:
- Desk drawers... Small objects are put in them, as well as things that are constantly used: pens, pencils, markers, scissors, paper clips, notebooks.
- Open shelves... Usually used for books, albums, notebooks.
- Closed storage systems... They hide items of non-daily “demand”: sketchbooks, paints, plasticine, office paper supplies. The printer is also removed here so that large equipment does not interfere on the table.
Advice! There are no drawers in the table? Hang a railing with cups over it - it is convenient to put pens, felt-tip pens, pencils in them. And if you add a few hooks, the problem of storing scissors or glasses will be solved. Instead of railing, perforated boards are used: compact with all their versatility.
Beautiful examples in the interior
In the design of a study place, you do not need to come up with anything from scratch: you just need to be inspired by interesting ideas that have already been implemented, to translate them into a nursery.
For example, placing a tabletop on a windowsill, many do not take into account that the student simply does not need so much space for lessons. Therefore, instead of a wall-to-wall table, make a table + 1-2 benches with cushions, on which it is comfortable to read books or just relax during breaks.
When equipping a workplace for two, it is important to divide the territory so that each child understands where personal possessions end, strangers begin. To do this, use color (as in the photo on the right), light or physical partitions - deaf or transparent.
When designing a room for a student, take into account the need for a work area from the very beginning, entering into the design. For example, in the project shown below, the table, bed, wardrobes, shelves are assembled into a harmonious one-piece combination.
A student's workplace requires special attention from designers. When designing this nursery area, remember that the child will have to spend a lot of time in it, so everything should be thought out to the smallest detail, it is convenient first of all for the little owner of the space, and not for the parent.
