Extra souvenirs
Trinkets brought from travel or donated by friends (consumer goods in the form of figurines of dubious design, candles, dried flowers, photo frames) are practically useless and accumulate dust.
Leave only the most beloved and valuable little things in sight: the living room will look neater. Put what you cannot part with in the boxes for a while.
Dark bulky furniture
The climate of the middle lane does not spoil us with the sun, so most people tend to make the living space lighter and slightly brighter. But the problem with brown "walls" and cabinets is that their dark coating does not reflect, but absorbs light, making the room gloomy.
Outdated headsets of the same type take up too much space, storing in their bowels sometimes completely unnecessary things. To unload space, you can:
- divide the "wall" into several parts, getting rid of a couple of elements;
- repaint furniture;
- replace with more laconic and light products;
- order the most ergonomic built-in design.
Low-quality fabric blankets
Textiles should give a pleasant feeling and decorate the living room, and not make it cheaper by its appearance alone. Plaid thrown on the sofa, is able to transform it only if it is made of a suitable material: cotton or wool (it is possible with synthetic fibers).
Polyester is acceptable, but most artificial fabrics quickly deteriorate, become electrified, fade and become covered with pellets.
Abundance of magazines and books
Papers, newspapers, stacks of irrelevant documents, cheap publications that accumulate dust and have long been of no interest to anyone - all this overloads the situation and creates visual noise.
Sometimes books that are of no value take up a lot of space and do not allow you to purchase the desired publications, because there will be nowhere to put them. For a small number of favorite books, display cabinets with glass doors are suitable.
Curtains with lambrequins
If your spacious the living room is designed in a classic style and is designed according to all the canons, feel free to skip this point. But if in small roomwhere everything strives for functionality and convenience, multi-tiered curtains with folds, ruffles and lambrequins hang, reconsider this approach.
Choose simple, laconic curtains, roller blinds or roman blinds: they are cheaper, but they make the living room brighter and more modern, and at the same time make washing easier.
Computer desk
In the 2000s, the fashion for "ginger" multi-tiered tables with smooth corners, drive bays and pull-out keyboard shelves took over the country. Having bought a personal computer for the first time, many sought to equip a comfortable mini-cabinet for themselves and opted for all-in-one models.
Now the need for disks has disappeared, people strive for minimalism, and tables from the past are too recognizable and look out of place in a modern living room.
Broken things
If the room resembles a warehouse with non-working appliances - old telephones, stereos and printers - the living room looks unpresentable. On practice such things are rarely repaired and only take up useful space... The same applies to unnecessary wires and boxes from under various devices, which are dead weight.
Stuffed Toys
Children's toys in an adult modern living room look at least inappropriate. Huge hares and bears occupy sofas and armchairs, get in the way, are often carried from one place to another, and also accumulate dust. They are difficult to wash and dry, and brightly colored toys do not add beauty to the room.
You can attach products to social and children's educational institutions by calling in advance and specifying whether they can be accepted.
If you value certain items, you should not "break" yourself and rebuild to please someone else's opinion. Listen to your feelings, and if you really like the thing or cause positive emotions, leave it in the interior. Everything else that bothers, interferes and annoys - look for new owners.
