The basis of the style is the natural colors of the sea, sky, sand, clouds. It uses materials such as wood, stone, and decorative elements reminiscent of the sea: shells, pebbles rounded by waves, images of marine life.
All this allows you to feel the breath of the breeze, the sound of the surf in the sea bedroom, relax the nervous system and truly relax.
Marine design has its own characteristics that can be used when decorating a room.
Colors. White, blue, light blue, turquoise, azure, beige, sand, dark blue are used as the main colors, coral, black, red, yellow, orange - as additional or accent colors.
Finishing. The walls of the nautical-style bedroom can be trimmed with wood - this will resemble a ship's paneling.
Decorating the walls with decorative plaster looks good, it is also permissible to use marine-themed photo wallpaper.
The floors are either covered with light-colored carpet, or a plank floor is laid to imitate a deck.
Furniture. The selection of furniture in a marine bedroom requires a careful approach, it should be wooden, and preferably with an antique effect. Wicker pieces of furniture, leather, wooden, bamboo chests tied with decorative straps look interesting.
Decor. The main pattern associated with the sea in textiles is a strip. A bedroom in a nautical style can be decorated with decorative pillows in blue and white narrow stripes, furniture upholstery can have wide stripes of beige and blue shades.
You can put a beautiful seashell on a shelf or bedside table, and hang a ship detail on the wall, but here you need a sense of proportion: too many decorative items can ruin the overall impression.
Coral details in the interior add brightness and make it possible to highlight items that need special attention, such as textiles or lamps.
Textile. A marine bedroom should be filled with breeze and freshness, and the right textiles will help create such an impression. Light, almost transparent tulle or organza, falling in free folds and swaying at the slightest breath of wind, will give the desired effect.
They can be supplemented with blackout curtains made of unbleached linen or cotton, similar to old sails. To enhance the impression, they are caught up with thin ropes, and at their end they are tied with sea knots.
