Even the most basic space can be decorated to resemble an oceanfront bungalow or a yacht cabin. Moreover, this does not require colossal costs, just a few well-chosen accessories are enough to let the freshness of the breeze and the splash of the waves into your kitchen.

Color solution

The tones that are used to decorate the kitchen in a nautical style should be close to natural. Nothing too bright and deliberate. The main ones are the colors of the sea, sand, sky, clouds, calm tones of greenery.

Additional benefit: all these colors, especially in the light version, will help expand the space, and have a calming effect.

Blue tones and aqua tones are considered cold, so they are best suited for a kitchen facing south.

The marine interior of the kitchen, as a rule, does not require complex technical solutions.

• Floor

For the chosen style, slightly rough wooden furniture, unpainted and slightly aged, is suitable. It should not shine, on the contrary - dullness will indicate the patina of time, so appreciated by interior designers.

Wicker furniture will also look good, as well as baskets made of willow twigs. An ottoman made of a thick rope twisted into a “coil” can become a very stylish decoration of the kitchen. A similar "coil", only higher, can form the basis for the glass table top of the dining table.

• You can add the romance of the sea in more simple ways - by changing the dishes. White plates with blue rims, or blue with white ones will remind sailor collars and vests.
