Change handles
The easiest and most budgetary way to freshen up the look of an IKEE headset is to purchase unconventional fittings.
Simple furniture handles make the interior even cheaper, so you should avoid the typical chrome "pipes" and standard "buttons" from the same Swedish mass market. Pens can be ordered online or even made with your own hands.
Dissolve in space
To disguise a typical kitchen, you can "hide" it against the background in the color of the facades. Having chosen a suitable set, you need to tint the washable wear-resistant paint in the same shade as the furniture, then it will visually merge with the background. It is worth adding interesting details, for example, loft-style lamps, as in the project below, and the IKEA kitchen will harmoniously fit into the design.
Combine elements
IKEA furniture is made for experimentation, so why not take advantage of it? If you want to excel, do not choose plain sideboards and cabinets.
You can combine textures, materials, colors and position of the modules. White facades are in harmony with absolutely any shades and textures.
Divert attention to technique
Sometimes the laconicism of the kitchen "plays into the hands", shading off unusual household appliances - a noticeable color refrigerator or an original oven in a retro style. Even a non-standard hood, for example, a hinged one instead of a dome hood, can serve as a distracting detail. A bright accent will draw all the attention.
Repaint
This approach is relevant for experimenters and creative people. Even the cheapest kitchen from IKEA can be turned into a design item if you are not afraid to work with your hands.
The owners of the apartment below painted the facades of the white headset with blackboard paint. It is not afraid of water and is resistant to abrasion, moreover, it is universal: you can draw on the doors, write funny inscriptions or menus.
For transformation, you can choose any color, and before painting it is recommended to cover the surface with a quality primer.
Surround with luxury
In many design projects, specialists successfully combine expensive items with budget furniture. A kitchen from IKEA can harmoniously fit even into an elite interior.
In the example below - the studio apartment of the founder of the architectural bureau, which he equipped himself. The snow-white suite with glossy facades serves as a neutral background for the massive bar, which is the main accent of the room.
And in this example, Ikeevsky furniture was supplemented with a countertop and an apron made of natural marble. Who will pay attention to the kitchen itself if its "neighbors" look so luxurious?
Remove top cabinets
One of the ways to make the "kitchen" interior more "roomy" is to give up wall cabinets. This solution is suitable for combined living rooms, as well as for those who cook little.
In the first photo below, the owner was using only IKEA cabinets, leaving the upper space blank. The kitchen with stainless steel facades is complemented by a decor in the form of a photograph in a mat and original swivel lamps.
In the second example, the curbstones are surrounded by interesting decor and do not attract attention at all. There are no upper cabinets.
Order new facades
In Europe, customization of the kitchen will surprise no one: there are many companies that specialize in the manufacture of new facades, ideally suited to standard IKEA headsets.
You can purchase items in different colors, textures or milling. In our country, this trend is also gaining momentum, as more and more people prefer high-quality and practical furniture from the Swedish brand.
Create an unusual apron
Give up the banal hog in favor of bright, distinctive tiles - and a simple kitchen will sparkle with new colors! Popularity is gaining metal, glass and figured ceramic tiles (scales, rhombuses, patterns) and mirror mosaics. Marble will never go out of fashion brick and natural wood.
A similar effect can be achieved by painting the wall behind the headset with bright paint.
Get an expensive countertop
A slab for a worktop that looks impressive always comes to the fore. The most popular countertops for IKEA headsets, which are most often found, are black or wooden.
If you want to transform your kitchen furniture, order a thinner slab that looks truly elegant, or use a worktop in a standard thickness but in an unusual color.
In order not to meet "your" kitchen with a friend or in the news feed, you can customize it in any of the proposed ways and turn a typical headset into a less recognizable one. If the kitchen is comfortable, in place, and well preserved, why not breathe new life into it?
