For the manufacture of DIY ottoman from a tire we need:
- new or used tire;
- 2 circles of MDF 6 mm thick, 55 cm in diameter;
- six self-tapping screws;
- puncher;
- screwdriver;
- glue gun or super glue;
- screw cord 5 meters long, 10 mm thick;
- tire cleaning cloth;
- scissors;
- varnish;
- brush.
Step 1.
Clean the tires from dirt with a dry cloth, if the tire is very dirty, then rinse it and let it dry.
Step 2.
Place 1 MDF wheel on the car tire and punch 3 holes around the edges at the 3 distant points so that the hammer drill will penetrate the rubber.
Step 3.
Using a screwdriver and self-tapping screws, fix the MDF to the bus. Do the same for each of the holes and repeat steps 1, 2 and 3 on the other side of the tire.
Step 4.
Using glue, secure one end of the cord to the center of the MDF circle.
Step 5.
Holding with your hand, continue to glue the cord in a spiral, remembering to use the required amount of glue before each round.
Step 6.
After covering the entire MDF circle with cord, do the same around the edges of the car tire.
Step 7.
Rotate the tire and continue to cover it with cord until you reach the edge of the second MDF circle.
Step 8.
After the cord has covered the entire surface of the tire, cut off the remainder of the rope with scissors and secure the end of the cord tightly.
Step 9.
Apply varnish to the brush and cover the entire surface where the cord was used. Let the varnish dry completely.
