How to do it yourself?

Making a wood log yourself is a laborious but interesting process. First of all, before starting work, you need think over and calculate everything:

1. Choose the best location.
2. Decide on the design of the firewood.
3. Estimate the required storage volume and the size of the future woodpile.
4. Draw a drawing considering all dimensions.

Now prepare all the necessary instruments:

• a drill or shovel for digging holes for the foundation;

3. Walls. Vertical posts are installed starting from the rear and gradually moving to the front.
4. Roof. Lay the rafters across; in the future, the roofing material will lie on them.
5. Floor. They are made of boards, having previously laid waterproofing under the base using roofing material or other material.
6. Roof. Polycarbonate, slate or corrugated board are mounted on pre-installed cross members.
7. Walls. Fasten the side strips at intervals while allowing natural ventilation.
8. Treatment. Wood is treated with an antiseptic and fire-fighting agent, or varnish. The metal is protected from rust.

Important! In a closed type of wood log, do not forget to separately reinforce the doorway.

If you don't want to waste a lot of time and forces for construction, use pallets:

1. Drive 4 or 6 posts in pairs at a distance from each other into one pallet.
2. String one pallet for each pair - these are the future walls.
3. Fasten 2-3 (depending on the length of the log) pallets at the back - the bottom row of the rear wall.
4. Place pallets between the walls as a floor.
5. Repeat steps 2 and 3 another 1-2 times (depending on the desired height).
6. Lay transverse joists for the roof, make a roof.
