Add hanging shelves
To increase the amount of storage space for equipment, install hanging shelves... The advantage of such shelves is that they can be placed almost anywhere in the kitchen. For example, set up a shelf above the dining table and place everything you use for breakfast on it: toaster, coffee maker, etc.
If there is enough space between the worktop and the wall units, the wall shelves can be installed between them. Store small appliances and accessories there.
Use a windowsill
If your kitchen has a wide windowsill, then it can be used for storing small kitchen appliances. Here fits a microwave, toaster and coffee machine. But the pile of household appliances on the windowsill will partially block the window. And this will prevent the penetration of sunlight, so it is better to put only the most necessary things.
If your kitchen has a narrow and small window sill, place small containers on it to store accessories for appliances. For example, if you use a blender frequently, you can store blender attachments in containers.
Since the equipment heats up during operation, be sure to protect the surface of the windowsill with a thermal oilcloth or a bamboo napkin. Otherwise, the window sill may deteriorate.
Install pull-out shelves
Pull-out shelves are convenient for storing both everyday equipment and rarely used ones. To install them, you will need the shelf itself and a set of guides for it.
The shelf slides out when you use the appliance and slides in when not needed. Thus, you will not need to transfer equipment from one place to another. The household appliance will be hidden when not in use.
Install such shelves at a comfortable height for using equipment.
Add brackets
You can find microwave oven brackets at any hardware store. Their installation will not take much time and effort. At the same time, the microwave oven will always be at hand and will not take up space on your tabletop.
Brackets advantages:
- Almost invisible under the microwave.
- Can be installed anywhere in your kitchen.
- Large assortment (fixed, telescopic, swivel).
Use your countertop correctly
If you have a large kitchen and space allows, use a countertop for storage. Wherein follow a simple rule: Place equipment that you rarely use closer to the wall. Try to place frequently used household appliances as close to the work surface as possible.
Small shelves can be placed on the countertop. Larger equipment will be stored on the table, while smaller equipment will be stored on a shelf. This will save space.
It is convenient to store accessories for equipment on such shelves: attachments for a blender, disposable filters for a coffee maker, and others.
Highlight a separate closet
If a lot of small equipment has accumulated, set aside a separate cabinet for storing it. Place household appliances in the closet according to the frequency of use.
That is, take the rarely used technique away, and the frequently used one closer. For convenience, pull-out shelves can be installed in the closet.
Equip a coffee corner in your kitchen
One of the free corners of the kitchen can be equipped with a coffee spot. Install several hanging shelves and place on them a coffee maker, cappuccino maker, coffee cups and everything you need to make coffee.
Instead of hanging shelves, you can use a beautiful shelf with an unusual design. This solution not only organizes your space, but also will delight your guests.
If you properly organize the space and storage in the kitchen, then all the appliances will always be at hand, and you do not have to waste time searching and transferring kitchen appliances from place to place.
