general information
The owner of the Moscow small-sized box is a young girl-marketer. She turned to Buro Brainstorm with a request to turn the old apartment into a comfortable living space - with a living room, bedroom and dressing room. The designers have successfully coped with this task.
Layout
The main advantage of the apartment is the corner layout. So there are three windows for 34 meters, one for each functional area. The living space is divided into a kitchen combined with a living room and a bedroom with a balcony. The cooking area is fenced off with a mobile door - this made it possible to legitimize the redevelopment.
Kitchen-living room
To slightly increase the height of the room, the new floor screed was made thinner than the previous one - we managed to win a few centimeters. The gas stove did not interfere with the unification of the kitchen and the living area: the designers installed a sliding partition with doors from the wardrobe.
The walls are decorated in light gray tones, and the floors are decorated with quartz vinyl tiles with wood grain. The ceiling is made of tension and is equipped with built-in lights. They are not in vain arranged in a grid: this technique gives more light, visually adding space.
A hanging chandelier is provided for local lighting in the dining area, which can be moved when the table is moved, and a floor lamp is located near the soft sofa.
The TV is mounted on a swing arm and can be viewed from either the kitchen or the living room. The built-in refrigerator is hidden in the closet. The set is selected in white with a contrasting granite-like countertop. The glazed tile apron matches the blue curtains in the living area.
There was no heating battery in the kitchen, which made it possible to place the sink near the window. We managed to disguise the thick pipe by simply painting it in the color of the walls and not constructing a massive box.
Looking closely at the faucet, you can see its asymmetrical arrangement - this was done on purpose so that the open window sash does not touch the tap.
The sliding partition was chosen from frosted glass: when closed, the translucent door does not make the room cramped. When opened, the structure moves towards the hallway and hides in the wall.
Bedroom
The relaxation room includes not only a full double bed with a high headboard, but also a spacious wardrobe with a depth of 90 cm. With its help, the crossbar beam was partially disguised.
The head of the bed is attached to the wall, but if a child appears in the family, the structure can be moved to the window and a baby cot can be put in place of one of the bedside tables.
The window overlooking the balcony was decorated with wood-like frames, and the glass was decorated with a crate: the opening began to look original and noble. The slopes were painted yellow - so even in cloudy weather it seems that the sun is outside the window.
Bathroom
The size of the bathroom is only 150x190 cm, which did not allow significantly changing the location of the plumbing. The toilet was moved to the bath, and a narrow countertop with a sink was placed to the left of it. The washing machine was placed in the only free corner.
A 13 cm deep mirror cabinet was hung over the sink: it does not interfere with washing and serves as a storage place for cosmetics. The bright bathroom is tiled with marbled tiles. The window between the bathroom and the kitchen was left, changing only the shape: this is how natural light enters the room.
Hallway
The crossbar beam, which spoiled the appearance of the hallway, after redevelopment turned into part of a niche equipped for storing outerwear. Painted white, it blends in with the ceiling and is unobtrusive.
The corridor leading to the kitchen ends with a beveled corner: this technique will allow the finish to last longer, since it is the corners that touch more often, eventually spoiling their appearance.
The craftsmanship of the designers exceeded the expectations of the owner of the apartment: everything in the apartment is thought out to the smallest detail. The space has become not just livable, but truly stylish and comfortable.
