PVC panels
Polyvinyl chloride material is used for the production of panels. Depending on the quality, size and production brand, PVC panels are presented in all price categories on the market.
TO advantages material can be attributed:
- attractive appearance;
- the ability to create a finish without visible seams and joints;
- simple installation technology;
- long service life.
It is noteworthy that PVC panels are excellent for finishing work in rooms with high levels of humidity.
OSB boards
Oriented strand board compared to drywall are more resistant to moisture material... In addition, OSB boards, with their high density have less weightthan drywall sheets.
Currently, OSB boards are very often used for wall cladding during construction. frame housesand also as a base for roofing. With the help of them, you can level not only the walls, but also the floor surface.
Plywood
Drywall is often only used because it can be gently bent and created, for example door arch... It is noteworthy that plywood sheets bend even betterthan drywall sheets. Moreover, plywood more:
- moisture resistant;
- wear-resistant;
- practical.
The advantages of plywood can also be attributed to it more attractive appearance... As a result, plasterboard can be replaced with plywood in a number of cases, ranging from leveling the surface of the walls and ceiling, and ending with the creation of various interior arches, podiums, niches etc.
Chipboard
Particle boards can be compared to oriented strand boards, since the technical and operational characteristics of these materials are almost identical. However, chipboard, unlike OSB, does not tolerate moisture and water well and in this they are already similar to drywall.
Nevertheless, the chipboard deserves attention, since is relatively inexpensive... Particleboard can be used to perform rough work.
GVL
The gypsum fiber sheet is very similar to the gypsum plasterboard sheet both in its appearance and in the raw material from which it is made. At the same time, GVL has a couple advantages, namely, higher:
- thermal insulation indicators;
- sound insulating properties.
GVL is inferior to gypsum plasterboard and its characteristics of resistance to fire. However, GVL is not flexible enough to make the same interior arches from them.
Tongue-and-groove plates
GWP is a building block material from which it is possible to erect more durable and reliable compared with plasterboard walls... TO advantages this material can be attributed:
- simple installation, which is carried out according to the principle of "thorn and groove";
- due to the presence of strobes, the possibility of performing engineering work, in particular, laying wires and pipes.
Slabs can be used for the construction of interior walls and partitions.
Glass-magnesium sheets
LSU is considered one of the most worthy alternatives drywall, however, sheets of this material are somewhat more expensive than gypsum board. TO advantages LSU can be attributed to the best:
- soundproofing;
- moisture resistance;
- thermal insulation;
- strength.
In addition, LSU have less weight in comparison with GKL, making it easier to work with them.
Aquapanels
They are the newest of the above materials. In these panels the indicators that are higher in comparison with gypsum plasterboard are ideally combined:
- fire resistance;
- moisture resistance;
- frost resistance.
You can use water panels to perform not only internal, but also external work... It is noteworthy that these panels are 3 times superior to drywall in terms of strength.
What material to choose as an alternative to drywall? There is no definite answer, since a lot depends on a number of unique factors, criteria and nuances of a particular situation. Be that as it may, there is a choice of alternatives, and the number of options continues to increase, thanks to the development of modern technologies and the appearance on the market of new, and sometimes truly innovative materials.
